Here we go! Some of my favorite social media accounts that follow in the foot steps of the shoe world has to start with Brkicks. The posts this page release are conversation starters and you really can see what the community is thinking about at the time. Brkicks either teases new releases that are coming and normally are one of the first pages to break the news and they create content with memes and infulencers all the time. Brkicks even posts calendars for each month of hot new shoe drops from Nike and Adidas (mostly Nike).

My favorite posts from Brkicks is content that pits the community against each other over shoes. Even with this post above people will argue and battle over what they think is hot or not. People commenting either love he shoe or hate it. As you can see above someone doesn’t believe the first version of the UB is a classic. On the other hand someone posted people wouldn’t wear these if Kanye didn’t. Just showing how much of a shoe influence he really is. I highly recommend trying Ultra Boosts because they’re some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever tried on. The best part about these shoes is that the foam boost is now being used in 100’s of different pairs of Adidas products. Boosts are now even in Yeezy’s making the shoe even more sought after. Brkicks can make a lot of hype for sneakers and prepare peoples wallets for them. Even when the last dance was going on. This is actually very relevant to this week for me. So for the first time in months I decided to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare with my old high school buddies. We played the battle royal Warzone and I love using the Oden in that game mode. My friend who is normally a nice person and always try’s to find the best in everyone was just ripping me for using it. Calling the gun trash, not worth using, you’re garbage you can hit the shots, and you suck. He never does this keep that in mind. My whole team got wiped except me and I kept us alive till top 10 getting a lot of solo kills with the Oden. After the match my buddy wanted to prove that his stock M4 is better than the Oden. By the way the M4 is one of the most busted guns in the game but with the right abilities the Oden can win the 1v1 against an M4. Our friends got on and created a 1v1 match so we won’t lag and they can spectate the match. We did the 1v1 on Rust with all same abilities, no attachments, and no kill streaks. I destroyed him going 20-12! Now he has to respect the Oden and me. Plus, he was getting mad and started cheesing me by camping and throwing knives at me. He needs to respect the tradition of the 1v1 on Rust.

Its a great tool to meet people and see what shoes are coming out on what days. There is another app that does this which is called GOAT. A student at FVTC Oshkosh actually showed this site to me and therefor creating my love of shoes to explode. There were so many pairs out there that I didn’t even know existed. Its a fascinating time because even Jeff Goldblum new show has an episode exploring the world of the product we wear on our feet.

What can I say, I’m obsessed with shoes. During this outbreak there have been some crazy shoe drops that I couldn’t resist. I ordered the Air Max 2090 shoes on March 26, 2020 and they just came on April 15, 2020. The reason I bring this up is because people still want their hands on the latest shoe drops and these shoe companies still have to deliver their product. The issue being that during this time of crisis people are buying shoes and making them harder to purchase from Nike or anyone else. I ordered these shoes for that purpose because of the slim chance people are still mass ordering and I wouldn’t be able to get my hands on them. In today’s world shoes are collector items now, shoes are the baseball cards of ole. Someone was asking me why I order these shoes and I told them I collect shoes. This person didn’t understand how massive shoes have become in the last decade and its somewhat of pop-culture. At some point I would like to stop collecting so many shoes but right now where I’m at in life its still the perfect item for people to get me and for me to be happy about. I’ve built friendships off of shoes, its just apart of me now and I can’t wait for this pandemic to be over so I can go somewhere with my new quarantine shoes.

Awhile ago I heard that wearing shoes is actually bad for your feet because you become dependent. Sure enough this is true. I was doing some research and throughout a couple of sources that deal with health prove that we are most likely to injure ourselves wearing shoes. Our feet become weak and were unable to support ourselves without them. Companies are now making better shoes for health but were still behind on being able to adapt. One of the worst offenders are high-heels and there’s a reason complain about them is because they are not comfortable, imagine what wearing high-heels does to the arch of your foot and forming your feet while wearing them everyday. Sneakers also can be bad for you because again you become dependent on the arch the shoe provides. This case study done by a student at Penn State goes into detail with case studies examining these issues with shoes. This is an excerpt from her report.

A study was conducted by the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg called “Shod Versus Unshod: The Emergence of Forefoot Pathology in Modern Humans?” In this study they “examined 180 modern humans from three different population groups (Sotho, Zulu, and European), comparing their feet to one another’s, as well as to the feet of 2,000-year-old skeletons. The researchers concluded that, prior to the invention of shoes, people had healthier feet. Among the modern subjects, the Zulu population, which often goes barefoot, had the healthiest feet while the Europeans—i.e., the habitual shoe-wearers—had the unhealthiest.” Rana Mohamd

The man behind the magic. Today we will be examining the profile of Virigl Abloh the man behind the creation of Off-White, Lead Designer at Louis Vuitton for Men, and Disc Jockey for Hip-Hops elite.

I have been following Virgil Abloh for sometime now just because I’m a Kanye fan and to even go into one of his stores in Dubai was like walking through an American dream almost. I have the utmost respect for him and his art. I hope you will as well, I welcome you to Virgil Abloh.

Virgil Abloh was born in Rockford IL 1980, his parents were immigrants from Ghana with his mother being a seamstress and his father painter. This laid the groundwork that their son was going to create something special with combining the two. Virgil went on to college in UW-Madison to pursue a degree in civil engineering and graduated in 2002. He then received his Masters in Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in 2006. There he met the man that would change Virgil’s career forever. Reem Koolhass, a dutch Architect who gave Virgil interest in fashion. From that point forward Virgil has been apart of the fashion landscape and came across Kanye when working on his earlier designs. This created a friendship that both would use to create a better world for music and the grey space in between colors. Off-White.

Here we go again everyone, the start of 2020 has just started and now it is time to see who are the highest paid athletes in the world from the start of 2018 going into 2019. This topic is always one of my favorites because it can give you insight on what athlete is doing well on what contracts they have with brands. From the team they play for to the companies paying them to support their brands. Here is the breakdown for you.

Did you guess who was the highest paid? Well no surprise here its Messi and Rolando again. These two guys have been dominating the charts since they entered the realm of soccer. With playing in the largest sport in the world its no wonder they’re here again. What I find most interesting is that no golfer is on this list. Cause I know that the masters is a massive payout and where are all the fighters such as Floyd Mayweather? Well he didn’t fight and doesn’t have to because he is the richest athlete ever. Who did you think was going to be on the list that didn’t make it?

Yeezy 700 MNVN Review

                Finally, the shoe is out! With two different colorways, triple black and orange. The Yeezy 700 MNVN has been hyped up for almost a year now and we have our hands on it. With other colorways coming out soon I figured we can give you our thoughts and opinions for the first time right here on our blog.

• Design: The shoe is very appealing and stands out with the orange, which is a great starting point for the pair. But where it might falter is the triple black colorway because the shoe doesn’t stand out. You can barley see the 700 on the side and there’s no accent, its just plain black. Almost reminds me of old Sketchers, maybe that was Kanye’s intention.
• Comfort: Adidas Boost is here again with the Yeezy 700 MNVN. Which can help the shoe a lot on a performance level. But here we go again; the shoe doesn’t really have any shoelaces to tie. They slid on which some people like and others tend not to. Hopefully you’re comfortable with your ankle being squeezed with this pair because of the no shoelaces. I’m sure over time the shoe will form to your foot, you’ll have to break them in.
• Impression: If you want the dad style shoe again from Yeezy this will be your dream come true. But if you’re here for the next Yeezy 350, I’m sorry but you will be disappointed. Just from the mere fact the shoe doesn’t allow you to adjust the laces and maybe uncomfortable for some people. The shoe doesn’t stand out as much either which is the whole appeal to Yeezy and shoe collectors(triple black colorway). If you want the eye-popping attention-grabbing orange colorway though, I recommend it if you can get past the laces. Very solid silhouette with nice 3M accents for that pop right off the orange.

For the Yeezy 700 MNVN I’ll give it a 7/10 which isn’t horrible, but the claustrophobic may not want to buy this pair. The retail is sitting at $220 but with re-sellers buying every pair it’s now going for 380-500+.

Cleaning shoes can be very risky because you could damage the shoe even more if you clean them incorrectly. Shoe cleaning has been becoming a more commonly asked question because of the popularity of Nike AF1 and Adidas Human 1, white shoes that can get dirty very quick. I will give you the rundown on how to clean your favorite pair a sneakers so they feel new again! Hope this helps you clean your shoes without ruining them.

Steps:

1. Remove the laces and insoles, you will want to wash everything separately.
2. Clean your laces with a brush and soap or with the shoes themselves. (Need to be air dried)
3. Clean and deodorize your insoles. Using a slightly soapy mixture of liquid detergent and warm water, gently scrub your insoles with a soft brush. Allow them to air dry.
4. Clean excess debris or marks on shoes using a dry toothbrush.
5. Put your shoes inside a pillowcase.
6. Place the pillowcase inside the washing machine along with towels.
7. Remove and air-dry your shoes.
